Sun shutter, Conakry, 1953

The sun shutter/ventilator unit was part of the climate-adaptable systems designed by Jean Prouvé in the 1940s.
With its fixed or adjustable-angle blades, it could be added to existing buildings, while in a project like the one at Conakry it was an integral part of a facade whose directional aluminum blades were of unequal widths.
