Facade panels Fedebat, 1949
In a logical extension of the curtain wall invented before the War for the Maison du Peuple in Clichy, Jean Prouvé came up with several types of mass-produced components making up lightweight, functional metal partitions. For Fedebat (Fédération Nationale du Bâtiment) he designed an initial type of standard prefabricated panel with built-in opening/closing and ventilation mechanisms, which could be rapidly inserted on-site from inside.
